That’s why, when the owner of a tennis court – located 4 meters above street level, on top of a car park and nestled in the centre of three multi-storey office blocks right in the centre of Woking –called us for assistance, we were more than happy to take on the challenge!
Dukes Court Project
The existing tennis court, on Dukes Court Office Block, had an artificial grass surface that had, over time, become slippery and lost its porosity resulting in the surface becoming increasingly hard and consolidated. Not only did it look particularly unattractive, it also hindered performance as players did not have the best surface to practice and play on.
The problem with this project was, of course, its position on top of the car park! It meant that the only access was from street level, so we had to use a crane to lift in all of the necessary equipment and materials. This included a tractor and a sand spreader which are obviously rather hefty pieces of machinery!
The organisation and planning of the court resurfacing project was extensive, we had a lot of risk factors to take into account – and not just for our team and the office workers, but we had to ensure the safety of any members of the public than might have been passing by during the lifting of the machinery and throughout the project.
Our professional and experienced team ensured that every aspect of our in-depth plan was followed to the letter – so the project ran smoothly, safety and on time. It took just a week for our dedicated team to replace the carpet on the court and hand back a first class quality tennis court for the client to enjoy.
Not only did we create a functional and performance enhancing court, we also transformed the neglected space into a striking and appealing green space overlooked by the office workers – so the only problem they had to consider was fetching back the balls that went over the edge!
They were extremely pleased with the work, and thanks to our skill and experience we have been able to expand the use of the area by installing a multi use sports surface that can also be used as a 5-a-side football pitch. So, it just goes to show that with the right company, and a team that are committed to providing a superior service, you can revive any area and even improve its purpose.
